Concerning:
Chain clamping set
Our
comprehensive range of clamping elements
has been complemented by a new, compact
and powerful workpiece clamping element,
the
chain clamping set no. 6540.
This set of clamping chains was specifically
designed for clamping large scale workpieces
with round or arched surfaces. Due to an
increase of the bearing surface of the chain,
the clamping force is distributed more evenly
across the workpiece thereby reducing the
deformation. Even so, however, that the
chain clamping set can also be used for
clamping of fragile workpieces or component
parts.
Clamping of workpiece by using chain clamping set no. 6540 directly on the sub-plate, fixed in T-nuts with the help of accessories from our range of "T-nut attaching devices no 6541".
|
|
Identical clamping process, but on a modular sub-plate. The chain set is fastened in the grid holes of the sub-plate.
|
Attach hook end and take-up end as closely as possible to the workpiece.
|
Turn the knurled nut on the take-up end until the pull rod is fully extended. Select the number of chain links required for the workpiece and attach to the pull rod.
|
Hang up the free end of the chain onto the hook. The length of the chain is adjusted by turning the knurled nut until the chain starts to tighten.
|
Perform the clamping process by using the hex key for tightening and loosening the eccentric shaft. Make sure that the crank is rotated to its fully locked position (180°).
|
The chain clamping sets are composed of:
- 5 chain segments with different lengths including the related connecting links.
- Overall length of size M 12 = 1,0 m
- Overall length of size M 16 = 1,6 m
- 5 workpiece protecting elements made of plastic
Hook and take-up ends quenched and subsequently drawn. Chain made of tempered steel. Please order fixture for T-nuts under seperate cover no. 6541.
Application:
For clamping valve gates, flanges, pump cases, etc. For use on sub-plates and T-slotted tables.
Functionality:
Generation of clamping force by the eccentric shaft. The clamping force is determined by the pre-stress which is adjusted by using the knurled nut.
Advantages:
The even distribution of the compression reduces the deformation of the workpiece.
Workpieces are protected by the protecting elements made of plastic which are snapped in the chain links.
Chain clamping:
Reduced deformation of the workpiece due to even distribution of the clamping force.
|
Conventional clamping:
Greater deformation caused by point application of force.
